The Thornlie Senior Football club was formed in 1970… Over the last 41 years the Thornlie Senior Football Club has achieved (2) League Premierships, (5) Reserves premierships and (3) Colts Premierships, (1) F Grade (formally WAFA). Along with these successes we have also been involved in a further (9) grand final appearances in various grades in the Sunday Football League.
Current
Still located at Berehaven Oval Thornlie we have four senior teams playing in the West Australian Amateur Football Association, C Grade League, C Grade Reserves, C Grade Colts & F grade.
We have:
- 90 playing members
- 20 support staff including coaches, managers and trainers
- 300 + members, including Life Members, Football, Cricket, Golf, Softball, Darts and social members
- More than 400 people watch our teams every week
Future
The Thornlie Senior Football Club aims to progress through the WAAFL ranks and secure ourselves as an A grade football club.
Junior development and player retention is also a major focus. We intend to further develop our mentoring program to advance and support our general player group. Our mentoring program will also be invaluable in transitioning players from our Junior Football program to Senior Football level.
We intend to implement a “Past Players Association” which will further encourage retired players and support staff to remain involved with the club, ensuring the club retains these valuable assets, and acknowledges the Club’s valued history and traditions.
